First Seed Exchange Festival Held in Balıkesir

Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality organized a Seed Exchange Festival at the Balıkesir Farmers' Training Center (BAÇEM) on the occasion of World Women Farmers Day. The event featured the multiplication of 46 different local seed varieties. Female farmers shared their production stories. Seed ball and art therapy workshops were held for children, while incense workshops were organized for adults. At BAÇEM, production of olives and mastic continues. The aim is to pass on local seeds to future generations. Female farmers in Balıkesir play a significant role in agricultural production.
