World Balıkesirians Day Celebrated

Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality held its World Balıkesirians Day events on October 10th at Republic Square and Kuvayımilliye Square. The event featured performances by artists including İsmail Özkan, Sebahattin Gülümser, Ali Çakar, and Ceyhun Damla. Traditional folk dances, regional food tastings, and children’s activities were also part of the festivities.

Balıkesirians from Istanbul, Bursa, Manisa, and İzmir arrived in their hometown via free buses provided by the Metropolitan Municipality. The event was organized to allow Balıkesirians living abroad to experience unity and solidarity with their roots.

Balıkesir Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Akın, in his speech at the event, said, "To love a city is one thing, but to be a Balıkesirian is something entirely different!" The celebrations continued for two days, from October 10th.
