Edremit Municipality Produces 137 Types of Heirloom Seeds

Edremit Municipality has achieved production of 137 different heirloom seed varieties at its Nursery and Heirloom Seed Production Center in Çıkrıkçı Neighborhood. The seeds, obtained through natural methods, are produced from crops such as tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, cucumbers, and pomegranates. These seeds are then grown into seedlings and distributed free of charge to residents during the spring season.

Landscape plants are also cultivated within the municipality's facilities at the center. Priority is given to plants that are well-suited to local climate conditions and require less water.

Mayor Mehmet Ertaş emphasized that municipal work goes beyond road and cleaning services.
