30-Day Deadline Issued for Demolition of Abandoned Buildings in Edremit

Edremit Municipality has decided, under Article 39 of Law No. 3194 on Urban Planning, that abandoned structures in Gaziilyas neighbourhood must be demolished within 30 days. The official process is confirmed by the Building Control Directorate’s Mail-İ İnhidam Report.

The removal of these buildings is seen as a significant step, both for environmental safety and urban aesthetics. Therefore, residents living in the area and building owners are required to complete all necessary procedures by October 14, 2026, within the 30-day window.

The Municipality stated that any request for exceptions or extensions will be evaluated only through formal applications submitted via official channels. If the buildings are not demolished, legal proceedings will be initiated.
